What was it like to go through pregnancy, prepare for childbirth, and deliver a baby in isolated farm and ranch homes without electricity, running water, pre-made disposable supplies, the Internet, and the expertise and equipment of the modern medical establishment? Folks back then had it worse in a lot of big, obvious ways – but arguably better in a couple of maybe surprising ones. Details, descriptions, anecdotes, philosophies.
